Your feet are undoubtedly the most used and tired parts of your body, as they carry the weight of the whole body. We take them for granted, till the point that they start to hurt so much that you cannot stand.
Sometimes due to work, while commuting, or performing household chores, we happen to exhaust our feet. And in these hectic times, the chances of this happening are quite high. And after a long day at work, all you want to do is rest your feet on a pillow.
Next time, your feet are tired, these are a few things that you can do to make yourself stand on your feet again!
Pointing toes– Point your toes towards the ground stretching your feet as you do so. Hold, release and repeat a few times.
Squeezing toes together– For those of you who have hammertoes (when your toe looks crossed or bent at an odd angle), you can benefit from this exercise. Separate your toes as far away from each other as possible and then squeeze them back together.
Raising heels– If you have been wearing a pair of constricting shoes or have toe cramps due to standing for long hours, you should do this. Stand on your feet, raise your heels so that your body is supported on the balls of your feet. Stretch as high as possible, hold for about 10 seconds before coming down slowly. Repeat this 10 times.
Roll a ball– Another instant soother from pain is by rolling a soft tennis ball or golf ball under your feet. Apply mild pressure while you do so. This is great for painful heels and arch, as well as for cramps.
Get a foot massage– Yes, we know you were waiting for this! A foot massage can indeed be a great and instant reliever from pain in the heels and arch.
Soak your feet in warm water– For relief and relaxation from pain, soak your feet in warm water for about 15-20minutes. To double the benefits, add some Epsom salts in the water. The salts contain magnesium sulphate which reduces pain while relaxing your muscles.
