5 easy ways to boost your health with yoga everyday

Yoga traces its origins to the fifth or sixth century BC. It was formed during the Vedic period of India and is a discipline for the physical, mental and spiritual health of a human being. Due to its wide range of benefits, Yoga has seen massive adoption, even in the western countries in the recent past. And yet, some of us refrain from practicing Yoga, thinking it involves difficult postures that can be perfected only by people that are highly flexible.

But, that’s not entirely true. Once you get started, your balance and flexibility will improve drastically. This means, it’s only a matter of time before you do almost-perfect Yoga poses. To get you started, here we bring to you a few easy-to-do Yoga poses that’ll help boost your health.


  1. Warrior Pose

Place your feet 3 to 4 feet apart and point your right foot outwards (towards the right), tilting the left foot towards it too. Now bend your right knee to a 90-degree angle and the stretch your arms at shoulder height horizontally. Hold this pose for 2 minutes and the switch to the left for another 2 minutes.



  1. Tree Pose

Stand on one foot and while bending the other and placing it at the level of the knee. Join your hands together as in a prayer position, making sure your body is upright throughout. Alternate this on each foot.



  1. Seated Twist

Sit on the floor with crossed legs with the body upright. Now place your left hand on the floor behind you and twist towards the left placing your right hand on your left knee for support. Twist as far as you can and hold it there. Then try the same routine on the other side.



  1. Child’s Pose

First kneel and then sit on your heels. Bring your forehead down so as to be touching the ground, while your chest touches your knees. Extend your arms forward stretched beyond your head on the floor, and breathe in and out for 2 minutes.



  1. Mountain Pose

Stand as you would normally, and join your palms as in prayer. Now stretch your arms as though reaching for the skies. Hold this pose for 2 minutes while concentrating on your breathing.
