Diagnostic Testing for Type 2 Diabetes

If you suspect diabetes symptoms here are a few diagnostic tests for type 2 diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C test.   This test measures average blood glucose levels for the previous 2 or 3 months.

Fasting plasma glucose test.   This test measures how much glucose is in your plasma.

Oral glucose tolerance test.   The test results show how well your body deals with glucose before and after the drink.

Random Blood Sugar Test  This measures your blood sugar at the time you’re tested.

Glucose Screening Test  This measures your blood sugar at the time you’re tested.
