The importance of the heart cannot be put down in words. The only organ that can determine life and death for the body is the heart. Hence, it’s equally important that we know the heart conditions that affect a person and find ways to stay away from these problems. Let’s look at some of the heart problems one can face.

Common Heart Problems

Pulmonary Stenosis

In this condition, the heart has trouble pumping blood from the right ventricle to the pulmonary artery. This can be due to some blockage in the artery for which an open-heart surgery is recommended.

Heart Failure

Heart failure occurs when the heart becomes weak and stiff, and finds it difficult to pump blood to the left or the right side of the body. This often caused due to high blood pressure in the body for a long period of time. This affects only one side of the body and rarely does it happen to the entire body.

Dilated Cardiomyopathy

The heart chambers become dilated and weak, resulting in difficulty in pumping the blood to the rest of the body. This usually happens when the oxygen supply to the heart is reduced and hence causing this weakness to the heart chambers.

Arrhythmia

This is when a person has an irregular heartbeat. This can be felt with a fast heartbeat or slow heartbeat. Arrhythmia can be very fatal.

Coronary Artery Disease

Coronary Arteries supply oxygen and nutrients to the heart. The coronary arteries become blocked or narrow due to plaque deposits, which contain cholesterol. This prevents the heart from receiving the required amount of oxygen and nutrients.

These are a few of the most commonly occurring heart problems that one can have. So, stay away from that junk food, eat healthily and breathe healthy for your heart!
