We care for our loved ones with all our heart. But, how can you care for that heart of yours? Well, that’s what we’re going to talk about now.
Cut Down on salt. Cutting down on salt will help keep your blood pressure in check.
Quit Smoking. The heart receives its oxygen supply from the lungs. Contaminating the lungs will indirectly affect the heart, so, quit smoking.
Drink More Water.Keeping yourself hydrated is very important, because let’s not forget that 75% of your body is made of water.
Control Cholesterol.Cholesterol is a silent killer for the heart. It’s advisable to keep the intake of cholesterol to the minimum.
Take the Stairs.Enough said about this already. Just ditch the elevators!
Stay active.Keeping the body active at all times is very essential for the heart, mind and body. Exercise is the answer to it all.
Spot the Signs.Become more aware about the heart, its problems and learn about how to take care of it. And take the right and necessary actions when you spot the signs.
Do not ignore pain.Don’t neglect any signs of pain in the left chest, difficulty in breathing, slow or fast heart beats etc. These are signs from the body to take a look at the health of your heart.
Eat Healthy.Eating the right food makes all the difference. On consultation of your gym trainer, you might get the same advice. The food that you feed your body is more important than the exercise you may do at the gym.
Laugh out Loud.Yes, we know you’re tired of clichés. But some of them are true. Like, this one – laughter, indeed, is the best medicine. A tried and tested drug, laughing is important for the body and especially, your heart. Laughing more and staying positive go hand in hand to nourish the heart with more than what oxygen can provide.
As we celebrate the World Heart Day on Sunday, 29thSeptember, make a promise to your heart that you’re going to take care of it just as it takes care of your whole body.
